social media and me

Ever since social media platforms like; Facebook, Instagram, and twitter Started getting involved in news, the way we understand information has permanently changed. Now in order to find the real story we must go to multiple websites, as to get all sides of the story. Now however there are people who will find 1 article supporting their point, but not look at the other hundreds disagreeing with them. Social media has let anyone find a article supporting their idea no madder how absurd. Take the argument “vaccines give autism”. Most people know that this is definitely not true but, the people who think it is find unofficial websites for a person who shares the same opinion and shows that One article to support their theory. So, in conclusion social media has made us look at multiple articles to get no biases and shown us that we can’t trust anything we see right away anymore.

When you interact online there are two main feelings you can get. The first one is joy, happiness, etc. From when someone likes your photo/post or gives a complimenting comment. The second is disappointment, sadness, gloom, etc. This is the main feeling you get; most of the time you won’t get the amount of likes you thought you would and that makes you feel bad, or someone writes a rude comment and it darkens your day or you feel bad because you see someone else doing something amazing, while you’re sitting on you couch browsing Instagram. overall, most days when you go on social media you will end up feeling worse than you did beforehand. Social media is making everyone; not just kids change their personality online, or they filter out all the bad parts of their lives, when I go on vacation my sister always spends 10-15 minutes taking photos to post on social media making sure everything is right and that she looks good this behavior is making us spend more time “getting a good photo” so that we get a lot of likes, rather than just enjoying the moment.

Both in the world of this episode, and the real world everyone acts a certain way to at least 1 person so that they will like them, we act a certain way so that the person we want will like us, and we feel a certain happiness. It seems that in the show you gain points if a person likes you; they will give you a rating and your overall score is shown to all. They can lose point if someone doesn’t like them; they will rate them poorly and that person will lose points. The points are important to her because, it seems that you are treated better the more points you have, as well as if you drop to a certain point you get fired. This kind of life would lead to people changing their entire personality just so they get more points, it would also lead to people not good with social interaction not having any way of getting a job due to their points being too low shown in the end of the clip. Lastly In that world people don’t talk to each other as much due to other people being able to see most of their lives with just a clicker. The world would be split into those on top and the suck ups trying to raise their points.

digital footprint

When I googled myself, I could not find any articles, social media accounts, tweets, etc. it is a result of the fact that I do not have any social media accounts, nor did I do anything so important that is was picked up by the news. So, when people look me up online, they will most probably come to the conclusion that I do not have any social media influence, nor will they know what my personal life is like.

In the future my lack of social media appearance might lead to a good beginning to a professional personal brand. I will be able to start a new life on social media un tainted by previous account that I made when I was younger. When I apply for a job, and if they look me up on social media, they will find no bad qualifies or decisions about me, but they will also not find and good qualities. It is important to be aware of your digital footprint because, if you are online a lot. Then you are at more of a risk for saying one thing, or making a stupid decision when you are young. So, it is important that you think before you post something. Think about how it might look to someone that you do not know. Take time and, see how your words or action can be interpreted, because if you don’t It might cost you a future job.

Strategy one for keeping your digital footprint safe is; one to, think before you send. Think about what you are doing, and if it is something you should be sharing with the world. Step back for a minute and, look at it as if your grandparent or boss is `rating` you on your choices, would they be fine with it, or disappointed\mad at you because of it.

Strategy two, keep your privet life privet; don’t share personal info about yourself online. Do not share thing like your; address, birthday, real name, family, etc. if it is something you don’t want somebody in Russia to know, then don’t post it online for everyone to see. Think about how someone can see all this info and, possibly find out where you live.

Last strategy, make sure what you post is what you want; When you are out with friends or family make sure that they don’t post anything about you without your permission, and same about posting about other people.

winter Market reflection

Describe your experience

personally I had a bad experience with the market, even though i lost $50 i gained experience in running a business for 4 days and the work and responsibility that goes with it. and learned that

Who I was working with and my experience with them

My group consisted of Me, Myself, and I. and after I had to spend 4 days with me I have to say I suck, I did although share a table with Kekekeychains (Vincent) and if I had to describe my experience with sharing a table with him i’d say… I don’t know most of the time i forgot he was there so he didn’t really change my experience with the sale.

Why did you do it

I picked erasers because, it was what the majority of people wanted when i asked, I also personally like the product i made which does make a major difference for experience when you are doing the work for you business and product, the choice to make erasers did shape my experience and the market as a whole for the better even if it means i lost $50

What else happened that might be important?

during the sale i lost a total of $48 dollars of my own money and that had a pretty big impact on my experience

Did this experience differ form your initial expectations

yes, when i started marketing my expectations where that it was a small one class market and that each class would get there week to sell, because of this i thought my competition would only be 10-15 groups and it was likely to make my money back while also gaining marketing experience, i was way to naive now i know it’s a bloody thirst event that is kill or be killed. All jokes aside because of how high my expectations were all it gave me was a false thought and a bigger defeat when i inevitably fell, and shaped my experience for the worst.

what did I learn

I leaned that when selling on any kind of market it is a much more cut throat business that you might think, i learned you really need to pay attention to what the consumer wants and who your demographic is.

How did I learn it?

i learned it through my experience with the market and seeing how I soled my product to the wrong age group and that even it your product looks good you need to know you demographic and how to market your product/service.

Why does it matter?

it matters because I need to know this information for if i want to run any kind of business in the future no madder how big or small. And now I have hands on experience with running a business and can look back on this if i ever need to as a way to get ahead of my competition.

What should be done differently in the future?

In the future i should pay more attention to who i’m marketing to and how i should market my product/service, I should also make more surveys and get more information and feedback before i even start to make my product, Lastly I should make a product or service that i like myself so that it doesn’t fell like work but rather a hobby or fun task.

A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.

i like this quote because it reminds me to always keep questioning.
