Social Media and Me

This is my Powtoon that I made for this assignment. I have never used Powtoon before so this was a learning experience for me. I hope you enjoy!

Social Media and Me

Question 1: How did you tell the difference between facts and interpretations, opinions and judgements?

I used my critical thinking skills to sort information that I learned into the different categories. If there were statistics I knew it was a fact, while statements beginning with the words “I think” were more likely to be opinions.

Question 2: How did you analyze evidence from different perspectives?

I used my critical thinking skills to put myself in other peoples shoes and think from their perspective. For example, I don’t have any social media, so I had to think from the perspective of someone who was constantly on social media and how it would benefit them.

YouTube Clip

This is a YouTube clip of Itzhak Perlman playing Concerto Number 1 in A minor by Accolay. This clip is very meaningful to me because I learned this concerto last year for a violin exam and listened to this clip a lot while learning it. Also, Itzhak Perlman is a really great violinist so I can learn a lot by listening to his playing. I hope you enjoy!

My Favourite Picture

This is a picture of a canal in Venice. This picture is special to me because I loved spending time in Germany and Italy and I hope to go back there someday soon. Seeing this picture and many others I took on that trip remind me of all the awesome memories I made while there. (more…)

Favourite Quote

A meaningful quote for me is:

To be without learning is to be without eyes.

This is a Lithuanian Proverb that I found in a book the other day.

This quote speaks to me because I really enjoy learning new things and I think it is actually very true. You learn so many new things every day and you really would not be able to do anything without learning. In my opinion being unable to learn anything would be worse than being blind because you wouldn´t know how to walk, talk, read, etc and life would be horrible. That is why this is a important and meaningful quote.

Hi!

Hi! I’m Lili. Welcome to my blog!

I’m a Grade 9 student in the tri-cities. I have a cat and I love to read. I also play the violin and spend a lot of time practicing. Some of my favourite things to do are read (yes, again), play music, hang out with my friends or go on walks with my family.
