I agree with this statement the most because it accordingly fits the circumstances of our current time. As humans, we have many instinctive fears that we don’t fully comprehend but if thoroughly understood, we may overcome and resolve them and achieve great things. An excessive amount of fear and worry tends to hold people back from achieving and exploring unknown concepts. A moderate amount of fear is healthy for humans’ safety and well-being as it keeps them from possible dangers that could be harmful to them. The implication of this quote is particularly recognized throughout Marie Curie’s process of discovering polonium and radium. She didn’t fear to ‘understand’ and explore foreign concepts although she knew it could be harmful. Curie’s discoveries positively affected the outlook of science in the modern world and resulted in many positive developments that wouldn’t have been possible if her fear had disrupted her desire to understand and discover to unravel the truth which is science.
