Science Quote

“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”

-Marie Curie (physicist and chemist, 1867-1934)

I agree with this quote because the more we understand, the braver we become. As long as we understand the world, we can learn how to protect ourselves from dangerous things. This can take a majority of our fear away. It is always easier for people to protect themselves from something if they understand it.

“Coronavirus.” In Wikipedia, January 30, 2020. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Coronavirus&oldid=938404468.

A real life example would be the recent coronavirus. Right now, scientists are still working on a solution to battle the virus, which leaves some people in fear and paranoia. As scientists research, experiment, and continue to discover more, the world will eventually know how to prevent the virus. If we can learn to prevent it, we won’t be as scared. Viruses and diseases are much more unsettling when we know nothing about them. Overall, I chose Marie Curie’s quote because it holds truth, and connects with the current problem the world is dealing with: the coronavirus.

Quote That Means Something to Me

“The dream of young people is to grow old, and it is likewise the dream of their parents to relive youth.” -unkown.

I chose this quote because it’s very true, and a lot of people can relate. Sometimes young people forget that youth doesn’t last forever and that they should appreciate the good things that come with youth. The quote is important to me because I’m still young and I want to appreciate what I have before I become an adult and have more responsibilities.

Youtube Clip (DL10)

This video is one of my favourites on youtube, which is why I chose it. It’s a catchy song by a very important cultural figure in pop, Michael Jackson. On top of that, it’s covered by my favourite artist Billie Eilish. She sings the song in a very different way from the original, making it her own style.
