Have you ever been surrounded but felt so lonely before? This is shown in the picture “We And I” by Steve Cutts. Respect is shown in this imagine in three ways, subject matter, Color and gaze. 

In the visual we and I the theme of respect is shown by the subject matter of a man destroying his boat. It shows the theme of respect in the visual by a man taking pieces off the boat to make a smaller boat just for him. The reason why subject matter is important is because in the photo “We And I” subject matter is shown by him taking resources to create a smaller boat just for him. The topic of the image is one man in a time laps running around the boat destroying the big one to create a small on just big enough for him. Therefore, respect is shown in the visual “We And I”  

In the visual “We And I” the theme of respect is shown by the color blue. It shows the theme respect in the visual by blue which represents calmness and respect. Blu also represents respect, power, trust and confidence which are all shown in this image. It’s shown by the color because he is confident in destroying the boat and he is confident that we can make one just for him with the resources from the boat. Therefore, respect is shown in the visual “We And I” 

In the visual “We And I” the theme of respect is shown by him looking at the boat. It shows the theme of respect by gaze because he is looking at the boat, thinking and respecting it before he destroys it to create a smaller one. The gaze he is giving is a determined, confident, strong look. But he also looks worried at the same time. He looks like he knows what he is doing but is worried about finishing it in time before something happens. Therefore, respect is shown in the visual “We And I”  

In conclusion the theme of respect is shown by the visual que subject matter, color and gaze. The visual cues work together to get the reader to feel confident. This feeling is important because it reminds the reader that we need to care about being confident.
