This website goes into how the First Nations people were affected by Confederation and settlement. It talks about colonization and how the First Nations people were assimilated. The author also went into detail about the Indian Act, which wasn’t explained very well in the textbook. This website shows a very different perspective than what is depicted in the textbook because it explains the struggles of the First Nations people when Europeans settled in Canada.
Information Fluency:
I showed respect for intellectual property by citing all my sources. For this assignment, I used Chicago style. I evaluated the authenticity by checking my facts on multiple sources to make sure the information is the same. I included a bibliography for my citations.
Media Fluency:
I uploaded an image of my graphic organizer above. I found a source for a voice that wasn’t heard in the textbook and included a citation in Chicago Style. This voice is important to Canadian History because many people still don’t know what First Nations people went through.
