Social Media and Me

Social Media and Me

What type of creative piece did you create and why? (3/3)
I designed a PDF document using canva and formatted it like a small information booklet. This is because my strength lies more in writing and less in design, so I preferred to write more and let visuals only be a tiny part of my project.

Were you successfully able to add a post to your Edublog entitled “Social Media and Me”? (3/3)
Yes, this is the said post.

Did you convey your understanding of the volume and accuracy of information available though social media? (3/3)
Yes, I believe I conveyed a deep understanding of the material by doing an extensive amount of writing and analysing.

How did you differentiate between facts and interpretations, opinions and judgements?
One easy way to differentiate between fact versus interpretation and opinion versus judgement is to find solid evidence through data analysis or research and to look for biases and outside contributing factors for the information to be presented a certain way. The source from which the information derived can also be taken into account when considering its credibility.

How did you analyze evidence from different perspectives?
We must first acknowledge that personal opinions find ways to leak through our writing, and therefore only take the information that has solid evidence backing it up. It is great to be able to see things from different perspectives, but we must take bias into consideration.

Meaningful Quote

A quote that really means something to me is

“Until the very end.”

I chose this quote because no matter how many times I read it, it always drowns me in a wave of bittersweetness. I feel emotions more intensely than most people, and it’s so much easier for me to want to hold on to something and never let go—until the very end. It could be something deeply emotional, like my friendships and memories. But it could also be something so trivial, like the lingering sweetness of chrysanthemum tea, the gentle trickling of a brook caressing my fingertips, or the final echo of the A minor chord concluding Liebesleid…

This quote is by J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows).

YouTube Video

This video is from one of my favourite YouTube channels, TwoSet Violin. As a classical musician, I strongly agree to everything they’ve said in the video, and that it’s time to make a change for the future of classical music. Classical music isn’t just “old music”. Music doesn’t age like we do, for I believe there is something in each of our hearts that only music can speak to.

“The timeless nature of classical music, that fact that the music of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Chopin survives today and transcends borders and time, shows that there’s something universal about this language.” – TwoSet Violin
