From searching myself up, I learned that I did a good job with my digital footprint as I found nothing relating to me.
Question 1:
How might your digital footprint affect your personal brand and future (eg. school and work) opportunities? Why is it important to be aware of one’s digital footprint? give at least two examples.
A person’s digital footprint can affect their future if their employer or university chancellor sees you doing something stupid on your instagram or facebook, in which they could use it for grounds of termination or even being declined from university. It is important to be aware of one’s digital footprint because if they want to have a steady job in life, they have to be cautious of what they share on the internet. Two examples would be: deleting posts that could potentially harmful to yourself or untagging yourself in another persons posts.
Question 2:
Describe at least three strategies (e.g consider passwords, cookies, security, etc.) that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe?
Three strategies you could do to keep your digital footprint safe is to use an incognito browser when searching things up, that means that your browser history won’t be saved.

The second strategy is to never accept cookies on websites. the third strategy is to never use the same password for every website.
Question 3
How would you explain the idea of “digital permanence” to anyone in your spares of influence: other students, your family members, your teachers, etc. ? Why should we care and be aware of this concept.
I would explain the concept by teaching them what I do and the reasons I do them. We should care because if they post something inappropriate then your future employers could tie it back to you, in turn getting you in trouble.
In conclusion, I learned that it is important to make sure that you have a good digital footprint in order to succeed in life.
