On my take your kid to work day, I went with my mom to experience what an office job is like. My mom is a graphic designer, so I was able to do stuff like make mock-ups for packaging, take pictures of products, and of course I got to file papers and sit through a meeting. I was shocked when I found out how fast it goes by. Being honest, it feels exactly like how a normal school day would feel, just with different work. If you want to be a graphic designer, I highly suggest you train an artistic eye. You’d need very good organization, be able to catch small details, and have good communication with your coworkers, because if you don’t, this job may not be for you. The office was an extremely ordinary one, with a front desk and a couple cubicles on each side of the room. The fluorescent lighting and complete silence felt a little creepy at first, but I got used to it very quickly. This job isn’t very appealing to me because I don’t think I could just isolate myself and work for 8 hours (with a lunch break) especially when everyone is secluded and sticking to their own little cubicles/offices, I’d need more interaction in a job than that.
