“My game is not predicated on shots or if I turn the ball over. If I miss some shots, that’s part of the game. I’m allowed to miss shots. I can do that. Like any other player, I can do that. I can turn the ball over too.” – Russell Westbrook
This quote by Russell Westbrook is meaningful to me because I use it to make me feel better if I feel bad after making a bad play in basketball. I use this quote to say that it is FINE to miss a shot, that it is FINE to turn the ball over or make a mistake, because professional basketball players themselves are NOT perfect and will occasionally make bad plays from time to time. Before I found this quote, I would sometimes beat myself up when I made mistakes while playing basketball. Ever since I found it, I have been accepting my mistakes better, whether I made mistakes from basketball or something else.
