For this video, a digital literacy fluency I picked was Collaboration. All 4 of us were able to get together during school to film our mitosis/meiosis video. We all updated each other on a group chat we made on Snapchat. We all used our own skills in the making of the video to make it all into one.
A Core Competency Reflection I picked was Generating ideas. I picked this because at the beginning of our project when we were brainstorming ideas for our video, it was completely different then what we ended up with. We started with no ideas and we were kind of stuck. We started with a small idea and we just kept building up on each others ideas until we ended up with something we all agreed on.

- In a series circuit the electricity flows from light bulb to light bulb, so if a light bulb were to be unscrewed it would cut off the electric current which will shut off all light bulbs in the circuit. So if you unscrew one light bulb and they all turn off, that’s how you know it’s a series circuit.
- Whether the light bulbs stay on or not depends on which light bulb is being unscrewed. If the light bulb on the outer path of the circuit (the one in series), all the bulbs will be shut off. If one of the bulbs on the inner path ( one of the ones in parallel ), the bulbs will still be on, because there is still a clear pathway.
- When the electrons are flowing through the circuit, when it gets to the bulbs in parallel the electrons divide to get to both paths and reach both bulbs which makes them dimmer. Then the electrons come back on one single wire and get to the last bulb, since the electrons aren’t dividing to get to 2 bulbs, the bulb in series will be more intense and brighter than the others.
- If one of the bulbs in parallel was unscrewed, the intensity in the leftover bulb in parallel will be more intense then before because now the electrons do not need to divide between 2 bulbs.
- I think I was able to contribute my fair portion to the project. I worked on brainstorming ideas, the building and putting together of the house and helping out with the circuits. I think I did a big part in the building of the house. I think to improve, I could’ve been more organized, because it was a bit rushed at the end while we were trying to glue everything down.
