ICT9 & CORE COMPETENCIES PREDICTIONS
COMMUNICATING
Communication is essential in order for us to form relationships where we are able to share information with each other. In ICT9, I think we will require communication skills to be able to retain information, present our learning, and help our peers. We will be able to perform these aspects through Teams as well as in person classes.
COLLABORATING
Through collaboration, we are able to combine all of our strengths while allowing others to cover our weaker areas. Collaboration is important in not only ICT9, but also in everyday life so we can notice the areas we need improvement on and receive help from others to better yourself. In ICT9, we can collaborate with our peers by asking and giving feedback for independent work, and participating in group projects.
CREATIVE THINKING
Creative thinking is a necessity in order for us to be able to highlight our talents and create an innovative and personalized idea. We will be able to showcase this ability through thinking outside of the box during assignments. With creative thinking, our finished assignments will be unique, interesting, and outside of our comfort zone.
CRITICAL AND REFLECTIVE THINKING
Being critical and reflective when reviewing our ideas allow us to notice the weaker and stronger areas, and refine them to polish the final product. Critical and reflective thinking lets us find our problems and then fill in to make stronger points. This core competency can be reflected in ICT9 when we reflect on mistakes or strengths from previous assignments to avoid making those mistakes again or further revise those stronger areas.
PERSONAL AWARENESS AND RESPONSIBILITY
We all need personal awareness and responsibility to respect ourselves. Being aware is being conscious of our identity as well as our actions and our impacts on the people and environment around us, while personal responsibility is the act of regulating our well-being. Personal awareness and responsibility is something we can achieve in ICT9 through managing our belongings, relationships, and time well to reduce stress.
POSITIVE CULTURAL AND PERSONAL IDENTITY
Making sure we have positive cultural and personal identity is important to everyone because we should all value and understand how events can impact our culture and personality. After, if we can maintain a positive outlook on this identity, we are able to feel confident, and eventually influence the community around us. I think we will be able to exhibit this by incorporating positive cultural and personal identity traits in our introductions to maintain that positive exposure.
SOCIAL AWARENESS AND RESPONSIBILITY
Social awareness and responsibility is being aware that there are people with differences around us and that we should take it to our responsibility to make them feel safe and welcome. This is always a present factor and we should always make sure that our actions and words are not hurtful, whether it be in real life or online. We can demonstrate social awareness and responsibility in ICT9 by being aware and managing our digital footprint and making sure that anything we post is positive so we can create a healthy, safe, and inclusive community.
