Project Questions

  1.  Due to all lights going off when you unscrew one light bulb, this proves the electrons only had one path follow. A series circuit is a type of circuit in which the flow of electrons takes place in one path. When you unscrew one light bulb, you have cut open the one path for electrons to flow, the circuit is no longer closed.
  2. The other two lights continuing to illuminate when one is unscrewed, proving the electrons have two paths to take, making the circuit parallel. A parallel circuit is typed of a circuit where the flow of electrons takes two or more paths. When you cut the connection to one path, the flow of electrons will be continued in the second path. The electrons that originally took in the cut path will now take the second path.
  3. The intensity of the series bulb will be greater than the parallel bulbs. This is due to the current being shared between two paths in the parallel. The current in the series circuit stays consistent as the current does not need to be shared. Although the parallel bulb’s combined intensity and current are the same as the series bulb, the parallel bulb individual intensity is less than the series.
  4. In question 3, a series circuit is split into two paths making it a parallel circuit, then the paths reconnect to create a parallel circuit within a series circuit. Unscrewing a light bulb in the parallel halts the connection to one of the split paths. So all flow will be diverted to the other single connected path. This means the flow is no longer split as all electron flow is now taking the one connected path. When electron flow takes one path, the circuit is now a series circuit making all intensities of the light bulb the same.
  5. In our project, we faced the challenge of being a small group. There was always something to work on in a group of two. We also could split the work easily and everyone had a chance to contribute. Such as during the start of the project, a person could paint and draw out cut lines, while the other designed circuits and planned the measurements of every cut. Everyone always had something to do and everything was punctually executed them.

When generating ideas, I feel creativity might’ve lacked. Planning was based solely on the criteria rather than reaching for our own ideas. My partner and I were so worried about meeting the due date we simply did not prioritize time to add creative elements to the project. I do feel that the house was quite expressive to our personalities.

We had a small diversity of personalities as we had a small group. This, however, meant we could create major elements based on our interests without other members feeling conflicting due to different interests. Our film room had the background of our favourite YouTubers and we had posters of memes such as the game dumb ways to die all over the house.

Our work ethic and our personal touches were our strongest points. I feel that the creative elements could be expanded and more prioritized in our next projects.
