Winter Market 2019

Step 1.

In the Winter Market, my partner (Evelyn Olson) and I started a company called Re-Spin. The company was made for aesthetically appealing vinyl records that are painted with cool, unique designs. We did it because the product stood out to us and we had previously seen something similar to it. In the end, we ended up making $43 profit, which both of us are proud of. Overall, I think we did a good job, and I put in a lot of effort when making the records.

Step 2.  During the market, we needed to change our approach a couple of times. When we did our set up, we had to have different levels, and we brought different lights. We ended up only using 2 light strands because we didn’t have any batteries or enough letters for 1 strand of lights.

This was our end set-up. Also, I was able to use my business knowledge from my grade 8 entrepreneur fair for this market. I know how to sell to costumers, and to get them to my table.

Step 3. I learned many things. I learned how to do financials and calculate my costs with revenue and how to count money properly. I also learned that high-schoolers tend to be more “cheap” with what they buy. Not many people bring that much money to school and say that they have no money, yet they go to the cafeteria to buy food. Also, the quality of the product matters too. We had a few products where there was some extra paint on the back, and those ones didn’t sell very well. Overall, I learned a lot about businesses and how to run a proper one. I was very happy to do this project overall and I think I did a great job.
