Digital Footprint

June 1st 2020 in Uncategorized

My personal Digital Footprint hopefully will affect my future jobs in a positive way instead of a negative one. Most of the things I have posted are art, and music, as well as updates on my life and photos of me and friends. It may affect my “Personal brand” in a negative way because I do post photos and videos of myself in “Gothic Vampiric outfits” and wearing “Fangs” and a lot of people tell me that I shouldn’t because it gives out the vibe that I am scary or mean. I promise though I am not a scary person and I am not mean!

To make sure there is no negative effect on myself from my Digital footprint, I have made my account private so only followers I have approved of can view my account. I also think creating a personal long password is quite useful to make sure people can not access my account and post things that could have a negative effect on my job or school. Something that I personally do is when I want to post something I ask my friends if it is a good idea just in case it is inappropriate and I am just not viewing it that way.

Digital permanence is basically the history of your Digital Footprint, so everything you have ever posted, on any platform at any point in time is saved permanently to the internet.

Even if you delete a post it could be somewhere on the internet.  Therefore you need to care because if you are for example drunk and you post a photo of yourself talking about how much you drink all the time, and you want to work in a quiet office, no one will hire you because you are a drunk. Even if you delete that photo it could be on google images, or on a “friends” account.
