Meaningful photo
This photo was taken by my mom after I just won the Greater Vancouver Mining Women Association Award at the Greater Vancouver Regional Science Fair in UBC, back in 2023. I accomplished this award by completing a project on erosion of commonly used metals in various liquids. This has great significance to me as this is the first major academic award that brought pride to my school and my family. When receiving this award, I felt very proud of myself as I put in a lot of effort and time into this project, but I wasn’t expecting to win.

In this clip of a video, this popular streamer and Youtuber (Ishowspeed) is on a call with a teenager who just recently got diagnosed with diabetes. After finding out what diabetes is and what he must go through every day, Ishowspeed decides to donate $17,500 USD to support him. I found a personal connection to this clip as my mom also suffers from diabetes. I find this act of kindness and generosity very wholesome, as he not only supported the boy, but unintentionally raised awareness about diabetes to millions of people who watched this clip online.

This quote which was selected by me, as I am greatly inspired by Pele, a football legend and the way he was motivated. This quote has helped me succeed and thrive in physical and mental activities. When I would recall this quote, I would always remember, that nothing else in that moment matters apart from that activity and that you should be willing to put everything on the line to succeed while remembering that just to be happy. With this new mentality that was achieved, I was able to conquer new peeks like getting into the IB program and reach the Division 1 football team while keeping a positive and determined mindset.
