For my image of impact, I chose a picture of women from Afghanistan graduating from high school. The reason I chose this image is because these women are not allowed to go to school just because they are women. The government in Afghanistan believe that women should stay home and cook, and education is not important. There is undercover schools in Afghanistan and I’m sure that is how the women got their diploma. This picture means a lot to me because I believe, if the women have to study and go to school in fear and still graduate then I should definitely be able to. These women are very inspiring and they inspire me to get my diploma. They also inspire me to value my education much more, being able to wake up and go to school and learn everyday is something I take for granted. I am very privileged to be able to learn and not constantly be scared of being caught.

I chose this short clip of Oprah Winfrey’s life story for my favourite youtube clip. This short video shows how much Oprah struggled in her life. Oprah Winfrey is a excellent example of someone who started with nothing but eventually worked hard to achieve everything, she endured abuse, poverty, and grief all before 14. Her mother was a poor teenage mother, and Oprah’s mother and relatives sexually abused her throughout her childhood. Oprah also got pregnant at 14, but unfortunately her son passed away tragically. Her dream was to become a successful broadcaster, she started off as a news anchor and worked her way to the top. Oprah Winfrey is now a billionaire and one of the most renowned names in media. I aspire to be like her, she is very inspiring. Instead of Oprah letting her difficulties discourage her, she used that as motivation along the way.

for me, a very meaningful quote is “nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible” this quote by Audrey Hepburn means a lot to me because it gives me a new perspective on failure. Failure is just new room for growth and knowledge. I am very resilient and I like to never give up and this quote shows me perfectly as a person. To me this isn’t just a quote, its a mindset I like to live life by. I have very big dreams for the future, and when I feel discouraged or overwhelmed I remember this quote and suddenly my dreams are not as impossible as I think they are.
