About Me: My Favorite Picture

My Favorite Picture:

‘A Bold Bluff’ by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge

Coolidge, C.M. “A Bold Bluff.” Dogs Playing Poker.org, 2005.

Have you ever seen that painting of dogs playing poker? Yeah, that one, the one you’re thinking of right now. Well, that’s my favorite picture. We don’t think of dogs being capable of multiple emotions. We think that the only thing they are  capable of feeling is happiness, sadness, and loyalty. In this painting, however, Coolidge adapted the look of most dogs into faces of suspicion, anxiety, and surprise. I find that it’s hilarious to see all the players staring at one dog in disbelief or such after he/she makes ‘a bold bluff’ while playing poker. I wish I had a great poker face like that. 😆
