In honesty, I never had a favourite quote until now. I was scrolling through the internet trying to find a quote that I liked but also one that I thought had deep meaning, and this one by Bob Marley immediately caught my eye. This quote reiterates that money shouldn’t be the main focus in life, but rather happiness. If I were to rewrite this quote to give it a simpler meaning, I would say “Some people are so mentally and socially drained, all they have left is money.” You could have all the money in the world, but if you’re not happy, then what’s the use? In today’s society, money is such a huge social trophy that people fight so hard to get. However, we need to realize that money isn’t the only thing we were made to want. Personally, I think that this is a good quote to live by at times when we think that we need money when it truly isn’t necessary. I like this quote because you have to really think to get to the true meaning of it, and when you figure it out you realize how important the meaning is.
