English Language Arts – MEN–09

Foundation Courses: Humanities 8 or English 8
This course serves as an introduction for all literary genres: poetry, novel, short story, and drama. Students will explore various ways of presenting their understanding of the fundamental English Language skills and processes. There will be an emphasis placed on creation, revision and presentation strategies and techniques to help students develop and express an understanding of self, others, and the world.

Pre-Diploma Literary Studies 9 – MEN–09IB

Foundation Courses: Humanities 8 or English 8
This enriched course will help students develop the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the International Baccalaureate Programme. Emphasis will be on reading for understanding themes and developing strong written responses and essays. Students will be introduced to the oral commentary and are expected to orally discuss and debate a wide range of literature.
