Physical and Health Education 9 – MPHE-09

Students will develop fundamental movement skills in a variety of activities and environments. They will learn to apply a variety of methods for assessing and developing health & fitness. Students will participate daily in physical activity designed to enhance and maintain health components of fitness. Students will explore health choices that support lifelong health and well-being. They will learn to identify and apply strategies to pursue healthy-living goals, as well as, to reflect on outcomes of personal healthy-living goals and assess strategies used. Another skill students will explore is to propose strategies for avoiding and or responding to potentially unsafe, abusive, explosive situations. They will learn to analyze strategies for responding to discrimination, stereotyping, and bullying. Further, students will identify strategies for developing and maintaining healthy relationships. Students will also explore and analyze strategies for promoting mental well-being for self and others.
