Science 9 – MSC–09

Topics and skills from various scientific disciplines are covered in Science 9. The course focuses on the ability to think and act like a scientist, using the following scientific competencies as a guide: questioning and predicting, planning and conducting, processing and analyzing data and information, evaluating, applying and innovating, and communicating.
These competencies will be developed using the following curriculum content areas: ­
Reproduction – mitosis and meiosis, and human reproduction
The Periodic Table – trends, subatomic particles, atoms, and molecules­
Electricity – analysis of circuits and voltage, current and resistance
Earth’s Spheres – cycles, sustainability, and interconnectedness
